Ivan Serrano Balaguer

Associate Professor - Faculty of Arts and Humanities
EURAXESS stage:
R3 - Established Researcher

In his teaching activity, he specializes in political science, in fields related with political theory (theories of contemporary democracy, nationalism and territory).  Within the framework of the IN3-affiliated research group, he explores the complex, multi-scale geographies of socio-environmental and technological transformations, applying a critical, interdisciplinary perspective and including approaches taken from the fields of geography, environmental studies and sciences, political science, and science and technology studies (STS).  His individual lines of research attempt to combine a theoretical perspective of political science with an empirical dimension in contemporary processes of change, such as those derived from territorial demands or technology and other contemporary challenges of present-day societies.
