Sustainability researcher and theatre practitioner, María is a Ramon y Cajal research fellow at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (UOC) and member of the TURBA research group (TRÀNSIC-UOC). She works on the interface between arts, education, facilitation and sustainability sciences. Her research and teaching interests focus on sustainability learning and environmental education, knowledge cocreation processes, arts-based sustainability, embodied imagination, critical pedagogies and participation. As a performing artist, María is trained in physical theatre and community theatre, and is particularly interested in socially-engaged art and the integration of different aesthetics and languages. She has produced artistic pieces integrating scientific research with performing arts and developed international and national projects applying arts-based methodologies to bring together different actors in collective explorations and dialogues around specific socio-ecological and scientific issues.
